For many people, cooking is something that they only have time for on weekends and a few leisurely weeknights. As a single parent I find it very difficult to find the time to cook a quick meal, Small Food Processor When I do find the time most of it is taken up by prep work-meaning the cutting and chopping. That’s why I think a small food processor is a great time saver and a great way to get people back into the kitchen.
A small food processor doesn’t take up a lot of space and most are very easy to clean, especially if you have a dishwasher. Also, they are easy to use and don’t need a bunch of attachments or various cutting blades to get the job done. We’re not talking kneading dough, we’re talking cutting up a half cup of onions.
Once you get used to using one of these little food processors, you will not only be saving time, but you will be saving money. Last night we ran to the grocery store to get some pre-made food for dinner-I didn’t feel like cooking. By the time we got home from the store, I realized it would have been faster to cook a meal at home. Instead, we used the same amount of time but spent way more money than if we would have cooked at home.
If you are not used to cooking at home but you want to get started, the key is to start simple. Don’t plan something big. Think of a favorite dish that isn’t too complicated and find a recipe from a chef or cooking show that you like. This helps guarantee that the recipe is a good one. After you’ve rounded up all the ingredients, get the items that need to be chopped, sliced and diced and get to work. You don’t need to measure before the chopping begins, do it after. Read the recipe and determine if the chopped ingredients are added to the dish separately or all together. If separate, keep the processed items in separate containers, if together you don’t need to dirty up extra containers by keeping them all separate.
While you are cutting and chopping you most likely won’t need to clean the processor bowl between dicing the various ingredients. When you are all done, just put it in the dishwasher.
